New College Grad – Need Help Choosing Health Insurance!

Hello! I am a recent college grad and am starting my first full time w/ benefits job soon and I need some help understanding the differences between the HDHP options and EPO option my employer is providing me to select for health insurance in California.

I'm mainly considering Option 1 or Anthem EPO. I don't mind paying a higher premium for lower out of pocket costs, I've had to pay a lot for out of pocket medical expenses in the past few years and am excited to have better coverage now. Unsure about the differences and exactly what they mean/if the EPO is worth it. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

HDHP Option 1 (Deductible and OOPM are aggregate) HDHP Option 2 (Deductible and OOPM are embedded) Anthem EPO (Deductible and OOPM are embedded) Bi-weekly premium $37.37 $4.62 $59.59 Deductible $1600 $3500 $500 Amount payable when accessing covered services in network: 100% until deductible then 10%. Out network: 100% until deductible then 30% agreed rate in: 100% until deductible then 10%. Out: 100% until deductible then 30% agreed rate in: 100% until deductible then 10% after. out: not covered except emergency care Out of Pocket Max In:$3250 out: $6500 in: $7000 out:$10000 $3000 in/out submitted by /u/ivkcc
