Fifty-year-old global consulting firm J.S. Held has expanded its forensic accounting operations through the acquisition of ADS Forensics, which has been serving law firms and insurers in the Canadian market since 2010.

ADS Forensics provides specialized expertise in areas such as personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, commercial insurance claims, litigation, and accident benefit assessments under Canada’s Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule.

Aubrey Shea (pictured), executive vice president and leader of the forensic accounting – insurance services practice at J.S. Held, highlighted the value of the transaction, saying: “The acquisition of ADS Forensics brings an important Canadian focus to our broader forensic accounting team throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

“Through our combined global team of hundreds of forensics experts, we can provide the local resources and expertise required to quantify the financial aspects of insurance claims and matters in dispute.”

For ADS Forensics co-founder Michael Sigsworth, the deal “amplifies our collective expertise” by building on their forensic accounting capabilities and boosting their ability to deliver a comprehensive suite of services.

With ADS Forensics now part of J.S. Held, clients gain access to a network of over 1,500 experts across various disciplines, including property damage assessment, forensic engineering, construction consulting, materials testing, accident reconstruction, cybersecurity, and economic damages.

Carolyn Seaquist, co-founder of ADS Forensics, added: “By joining J.S. Held, we expand the solutions we provide to clients even further, all with the same personal attention, follow through, quick turnaround, and service-oriented approach our clients know to expect.”
