AXA XL has promoted Peter Ukstins to take charge of the insurer’s construction risk engineering team in the Americas.

Ukstins, who has been with AXA XL since 2019, previously held the role of senior risk engineer consultant and team leader within the subcontractor default insurance (SDI) risk engineering unit. Before joining AXA XL, he spent nearly two decades at James G. Davis Construction where he served as director of the Integrated Construction Group.

His credentials include the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) and Energy Risk and Insurance Specialist (ERIS) certifications.

Donna Nadeau, AXA XL’s head of large commercial, noted: “Our construction risk engineering capabilities are an essential asset for our clients in the construction industry. As construction risks become increasingly complex, our team’s proactive approach to addressing potential risks empowers our clients to navigate the complexities of construction risks with confidence.

The construction risk engineering team at AXA XL collaborates with contractors to improve safety, operational efficiency, and profitability. Services offered range from driver and fleet safety programs to project consultations aimed at identifying exposures related to safety, health, and liability.

Additional services include safety training, builders risk engineering assessments, and SDI risk engineering services.
