Urgent care bill turned naturopathic visit.

I went to an urgent care a few weeks ago to get a refill on my inhaler. It was a new urgent care but they weren’t busy so I went there. I checked they were in-network first. At the urgent care, I asked for an estimate of my bill and they said they couldn’t do that ahead of time. I assumed it would be a $10 copay like it always is for urgent care.

I saw a doctor, and she introduced herself as a doctor. She wrote me a prescription for my inhaler and I was pleased. I then got billed for a naturopathic/holistic wellness visit, as apparently she is a naturopathic doctor. My insurance doesn’t cover naturopathic visits.

I called the urgent care company (zoomcare) and they were extremely rude to me. Told me it was my own fault for confirming she wasn’t a naturopath before I saw her. They’re claiming their clinic isn’t even an urgent care and so they won’t bill it as such (even though on their own website it says it is an urgent care location).

Insurance (blue shield) says they can’t do anything since zoomcare billed it as a naturopath visit. Zoomcare is refusing to do anything either.

Do I have any recourse or should I just pay the bill?
