Cobra and New Insurance Elections

I’ll be leaving my current job sometime in early October. I’ll try doing this so that my current insurance is available till end of October.

My wife is pregnant and she is covered under my insurance. We’ve met the deductible for the year , we are short of $1300 to meet OOP. Her due date is Jan 2. I know this can move forward or backward and she’d like to stay with her current care providers

What would be the most cost effective option to continue coverage in our case?

Should I elect cobra coverage for her alone for the rest of the year ? I read through documents and it said I can add a dependent for continued coverage. What will the premium approximate to ? My W2 shows approx 16k yearly for health costs paid by employer. 2. The new company will probably ask me to sign up for insurance. Is there a way I can just add myself for 2024 and work with them to add both my wife and I and baby( if baby arrives in 2024) starting 2025? Is there anything else I’m not considering ? submitted by /u/FennelNo4465
