Husband job accidentally enrolled him in insurance early.

So. After a lot of worrying. Because out insurance asked if we had other insurance. Nope. (A claim was denied)

My husband finally talked to the benefits person at hid job.

she said yes he was accidentally added for August, when he hadn’t been there for 30 days.

He only just started, and only worked 2 days. Because knee pain from an injury he had years ago. Possibly from climbing in the truck. So he told them he can’t work anymore due to that. And plus he only worked 2 days total.

The weird thing is HR acted he quit. But this benefis person said, well whenever you come back…you can sign up for insurance but it won’t go in effect after 30 days of employment. Idk. Maybe she figures he’s taking a leave of absence. And he did tell her we got the cards in the mail and thought that was odd,we called the number and it saod active 8/1. She said they were having open enrollment, and he got put into that group by mistake instead of the new employee group.

So she said she’ll work on fixing it, cancel it and give back his premium money. He’ll get it next week. So I asked is it now canceled? He told me she’s working on it this week. This conversation was yesterday, Tuesday afternoon.

So checked the health insurance portal online, because in the first place we were wondering if it was really active. And by calling them and logging in, It showed that. It still says active? I’ll probably just delete the online account and call the insurance. I was just curious if it showed active online.

He said “we’ll keep checking on it, and if it says active by the end of this week, he’ll ask her how.long it takes to update.” But I’m inpatient. Lol! Because I have to tell providers what happened. My kids have appointments coming up.

Has anyone heard of this happening before? & Does it take quite a while for them to fix the mistake and back date and cancel it? I’m just not sure what to do for appointments coming up. Maybe some advice on how to ask her without sounding like a weirdo, haha.
