Health insurance via ex. History of marital DV. Need advice. Cali based
Hello. I need a dental surgery. Divorced in July. Family insurance plan through his work.. Was supposed to have coverage till November, per marital agreement but ex pulled the plug on 8/27/2024 . I paid all year ,all deductibles, extra, you name it,so i can have the surgery, which includes x rays, anesthesia, etc…
I am a survivor of decades long domestic violence, and financial abuse was severe. I have full custody of our kids,physical and legal. He relocated us to California then left ,moved to another state.
1) I cannot see any records from the insurance or his work ,to know it ended in August.
2) If it did, did the coverage ended precisely on the 27th?
3) Via Parenting app he stated his work is sending me a Cobra package…
He knew i had surgery ahead.
4) I was just laid of last week.
5) In an emergency, am i allowed to go to an ER?
6) Health insurance plans to apply for immediately.?
Kids continue to be covered by him, for now, however, my new job must have health insurance as i cannot rely on him.
