I have a complicated situation going on and am hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. I have a provider who is (I thought) out of network. The plan was to send the claims through knowing they wouldn't be paid by the insurance company and for me to pay them until I hit my out of pocket max, at which point the insurance would kick in. I am very likely to hit my out of pocket max this year, which is why this is important. The issue is that they are claiming my provider is in network. Apparently she was at some point in the past but has asked numerous times to be removed. This matters because they are only paying her an in-network rate that she is not willing to accept. It seems that what I need to do is convince the insurance company that she's not in network. Kind of an absurd thing to have to do since I'm sure so many other people are battling to get their services recognized as in network. Am I correct that an insurance company will accept the provider's full rate provided they are out of network for credit toward my out of pocket max? Any other feedback or advice on this situation?
