Advice/Tips for a 22 Married Man

Hello, kind of just here to learn more. I am currently covered by my parent’s health insurance, but I want to know what that means for me. What should I look for in a plan? How should I evaluate whether a healthcare plan is good or not? My job offers accident, daily hospital cost, cancer, and gap insurance. Are any of those worth considering or do people not normally get excess health insurance? While I already have medical insurance I’m worried about if something really really bad happens, like if I get cancer or if I have to stay in a hospital for an extended amount of days. Are there ways to insure against the limitations of medical coverage, or are those things just a risk that must be accepted/too expensive for the average person? Pointers to places I can go to learn more would be appreciated too 🙂

(If reference is needed, both my wife and I are 22, in good health if a little overweight and we have no kids. We live in Texas near the Austin area Combined pre-tax income this year will be ~$64k. My income will be ~$25k this tax year)

Extra question: My wife has insurance, but it is through a private health insurance agent. Much of her plan is 0 deductible and the premium isn’t bad either. However, that makes me worry, do 0 deductible plans have shitty coverage if something actually bad happens?
