ANZIIF celebrates top achievers at 2024 Australian Insurance Industry Awards

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has announced the winners of the 2024 Australian Insurance Industry Awards.
The event, held on Aug. 22 at The Star in Sydney, acknowledged outstanding achievements within the insurance industry.
ANZIIF’s 20th Australian Insurance Industry Awards
This year’s awards ceremony saw attendance from over 800 industry professionals, highlighting the significance of the event within the insurance community. The awards aim to recognise individuals and organisations that have made notable contributions to the industry.
ANZIIF CEO Katrina Shanks remarked on the importance of the awards, stating that the achievements reflect the industry’s commitment to excellence.
“We celebrated not just the winners, but the dedication, innovation, and brilliance that define our industry. [The] achievements reflect a commitment to excellence that inspires us all. Congratulations to our winners for setting new benchmarks and leading the way with their outstanding contributions,” she said.

ANZIIF extended its gratitude to the judging panel and event sponsors, acknowledging their contributions in making the event successful. It also expressed appreciation to everyone who submitted nominations, emphasising the value of their efforts.
AICLA/ANZIIF Claims Convention 2024
ANZIIF’s activities for 2024 do not end with its 20th Australian Insurance Industry Awards.
The event, jointly organised with the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA), will explore the theme “Claims Under the Microscope – Driving Better Outcomes.” It will address key issues, including the Federal Parliamentary Flood Inquiry, risks associated with lithium batteries, environmental claims, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the claims process.
The convention will also explore climate-related challenges, advancements in marine insurance, and emerging risks like arson claims.
The event, available both in-person and online, will provide a platform for life insurance professionals to discuss current industry trends and challenges. Topics will include the role of health and wellbeing platforms in life insurance and the use of AI in fraud detection.
