The Hanover Insurance Group’s Brad McCreedy (pictured) has been appointed as chair of The PIA Partnership, a collaborative initiative between the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) and insurance carriers.

Joining The Hanover in 2018 as vice president of personal lines strategy, McCreedy oversees strategy, agency engagement, and project management for the firm’s preferred account auto and home business. He’s also at the helm of Educators Insurance Agency, an independent insurance agency under The Hanover.

McCreedy’s career began as a nuclear submarine officer on the USS Columbus, a fast-attack submarine stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He holds a bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics from the US Naval Academy and a master’s degree in strategy and finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Additionally, McCreedy is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter who is licensed in all 50 states.

Commenting on the chairmanship, he said: “Independent agents are at the heart of our business at The Hanover. Our partnership with PIA helps us collaborate and engage with some of the best agents across the country. I am excited to chair this important initiative and look forward to working with my peers to drive excellence in our industry.”

PIA chief operating officer Dana Anaman added: “The PIA Partnership and the members of PIA will benefit greatly from Brad’s talent, expertise, and dedication to the success of independent insurance agents.”

Aside from The Hanover, companies participating in The PIA Partnership include Erie Insurance, Foremost, Goodville Mutual Insurance Group, Hastings Mutual Insurance Company, Liberty Mutual, Mercury Insurance, Allstate’s National General, Progressive Insurance, Selective Insurance Group, State Auto Insurance Companies, and Travelers.
