Charged $400 for a prescription claiming it’s going toward my deductible when it’s never cost this much before

I have been on this one prescription for years. The most I’d ever pay for it is $30, and when the deductible was met it was $0. I refilled this medicine and another one, and when I picked them up from the pharmacy one of them was the normal price and the other was $400. The pharmacist said it was going towards my deductible. I told her to hold it and that I’d reach out to my insurance. I reached out via chat later in the day and asked the insurance agent why this suddenly cost $400, and all she could tell me was that it was going toward my deductible and I’d have to pay that amount. When asked why one medicine was covered and this one wasn’t, she said not all medicines count toward the deductible. She was talking in circles and not actually answering my questions. I asked her why I didn’t have to pay out of pocket when I refilled my prescriptions a couple months ago, and she said there wasn’t a deductible payment then. She explained that once the benefit year resets, I’ll have to pay out of pocket until the deductible is met. I asked when the benefit year resets and she said December 31st. It’s August????

You might have to explain it to me like I’m five, but I’ve literally never paid this amount for my medicine before regardless if it was “going toward my deductible.” This is also a generic medication, not brand name.

Edited to add: F24, VT, still on parents insurance
