Hello! I will try to keep this short. I’m seeking advice about weight loss options. I’m a 24 yo, my BMI is exactly 40, I am a type one diabetic, and have sever thyroid issues (they have to give me two separate pills because my dosage is so large they don’t make it in one). Lately, I have been making a huge effort to improve my life in all aspects but the area that I cant seem to find success in is weight loss. I’ve tried multiple diets and I workout a bunch but the weight is super stubborn and still seems to stick. I have been very curious about GLP1’s and have even considered gastric sleeve surgery. The issue is that my employer does not offer insurance (I work 35hrs/week and am a full time student). I am currently on state insurance which won’t cover weight loss in any aspect (understandable). I know that being this weight is unhealthy but I’m also just miserable in my body because of ~society~ and they way I’m treated by everyone. I’m determined to lose the weight I’m just not sure which route to take. Should I look for a personal plan? that will cover weight loss options? Should I hold out until I graduate from school and look for a better job that offers better insurance( I really don’t want to,im so tired of existing in this body😕) Should I save and try to get the procedure done outside of the US? I’m open to any and all advice but please don’t tell me to just try and lose it on my own- I have been trying for 10+ years, I’m exhausted from trying and in need of help.
