Data from the start of Q2 of this year shows sales are up 14 percent in the U.S. Despite that, there’s still millions of people out there who still haven’t purchased an EV and don’t plan on buying one.

A Small and Overpriced (for Volvo’s Target Audience) EV is Coming

Last summer, we asked readers what’s keeping them from buying an EV. We got a number of responses. From range anxiety to affordability to living situations. Everyone’s reasoning is different. Or maybe you’re like me and what’s keeping you from buying one is a two-sided issue. On one hand, I see EVs becoming better and better and the performance of many of them are out of this world.

On the other hand, affordability is still not there for me, even with the tax credit. As sales slow some dealers are putting big discounts on models on top of the tax credit, so that does help things. However with models like the Lucid Gravity, Volvo EX90 and Audi A6 e-tron, it doesn’t look like EV affordability is a priority for a number of automakers.

So now, just over a year later, we ask you Jalopnik readers again to see if anything has changed. What’s keeping you from buying an EV? Do you still have concerns over things like charging and affordability? Let us know in the comments.
