Berkley Insurance Australia (BIA) has extended its online broker portal, bindIT, to include professional indemnity insurance.

bindIT’s professional indemnity and public liability solution

With the latest update, bindIT now offers a combined professional indemnity and public liability solution with coverage limits up to $20 million.

Tony Wheatley, CEO of BIA, credited the success of bindIT to the support from local underwriters.

“Our expert local underwriters are still available behind the scenes, providing personalised support and handling of referrals or queries,” he said. “The broker market has responded positively to our bindIT broker platform, and we have added professional indemnity in response to their needs.”

Looking ahead, he emphasised the company’s commitment to improving services for brokers.

“Our mission remains to continuously enhance our services and provide brokers with the tools they need to cater to a diverse range of industries and occupations,” he said.

Berkley Insurance Australia partners with SolarBuddy

BIA also recently entered into a partnership with SolarBuddy, an organisation aimed at combating global energy poverty.

This partnership seeks to distribute solar lights to children in disadvantaged areas, thereby improving their access to education, enhancing health outcomes, and promoting economic growth.

Commenting on the collaboration, Wheatley highlighted SolarBuddy’s positive impact on communities without reliable energy access.

“Aligning with SolarBuddy is a reflection of our core values,” he said. “We are inspired by their commitment and the significant impact of their work, especially for communities affected in the cycle of energy poverty.”
