Here's Your Chance To Buy A Brand-New 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 With Only A Single Mile On The Odometer

From basic to exotic, the last few years have seen all sorts of cars come out of the woodwork with extremely low miles. Depending on who you are, the prices for them may or may not be worth it. Take this 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8, for example.

Currently listed for sale at Vantage Auto in Moonachie, New Jersey, this 15-year-old Challenger is unique in that it’s brand new. It’s almost never been driven, as it has just one mile on the odometer. How’s that possible you may ask? Vantage’s description of the Challenger says it went from the delivery truck to a flatbed to the previous owner where it sat in climate-controlled storage.

It wasn’t owned by just one person over the last 15 years, though. According to the Carfax, this thing has had three owners. The original owner held onto it for six years in Ohio before getting rid of it in 2015. The second owner had it for a year and ten months before parting with it in mid-2018. The third owner had it another six years before Vantage Auto got their hands on it at the beginning of August. Not a single one of those three owners ever drove the car. They just stored it away.

Being in climate-controlled storage did help keep this Challenger in good condition. Also, not being driven helped, too, as it’s still in showroom condition. That’s not saying much, though. Remember, this is a 2009, the same year Chrysler declared bankruptcy. So that means you get a plastic fantastic interior that’s clean, but dated as hell.

Other than that, you do get the clean, classic lines of the first-gen Challenger, which was almost a production version of the concept shown three years before its debut.

Best of all, there’s that big 6.1-liter Hemi V8 under the hood putting out 425 horsepower via a six-speed manual transmission.

So what will you have to pay for a chance to own this low-mileage Challenger? Nothing close to the original MSRP that’s for sure. Included with the car is the original Monroney, showing that this thing cost just $42,640 back in ‘09 — a brutal reminder of how far we’ve fallen. You’ll pay nearly double that, which could explain why three people held onto this thing without driving it. Vantage is asking $79,990 for this Challenger.

It’s a big ask, sure, but this is also likely the lowest-mileage Challenger in existence. If you’re interested in this car and you end up buying it, I’m begging you. Please drive it. You’re not doing anyone any favors letting it sit. Go out and do some burnouts. Life is too short to treat a car like an investment.
