Medical debt in collections that I don’t owe

I am the right person

I did receive the procedures outlined in the bill

The charges outlined in the bill are the correct amounts for said procedures.

But…these are charges should be being paid by my insurance. AND MY INSURANCE AGREES!

I have been on not 1, not 2, but THREE conference calls between me, my insurance, and the hospital over this bill. I have the reference numbers. Each time, the insurance went through my EoB with the hospital. My insurance explained to them that they have not received a correct bill for these claims. They have given them their mailing address to resubmit the bill every time.

But the hospital chooses to do nothing except bill me for the charges.

Unfortunately the bill is far more than $500 and is now negatively impacting my credit.

I don’t know what to do. The bill is a few thousand. I have emergency funds necesarry to cover it. But not enough to hire an attorney because again…I don’t owe this money.

Not only do my EoBs against the specific procedures for this visit highlight that my total cost was the measly $25 copay. But also, the bill I’m receiving is higher than my entirely yearly out of pocket. I pay for VERY expensive zero deductible, low OOP insurance in cash each month. It’s about $1400 a month.

Please don’t suggest I reduce my health coverage to pay attorney fees. I chose my plan because is it accepted virtually everywhere which it’s important because of my variety of health issues.

Edit: All providers were in-network
