A passing driver was able to capture video of this Amazon truck driving down a sidewalk in Georgia earlier this month. The driver behind the wheel is, rather predictably, out of a job.

Atlanta’s Fox 5 reports that a passing driver — who wants to remain anonymous — filmed the Amazon van on the sidewalk on July 14. The person filming told Fox 5 they estimate that the van was going about 35 mph. That’s too fast for a neighborhood street, let alone a sidewalk.
In a statement to Fox 5, Amazon says they’ve fired the driver and that the company is committed to safety.
This was reckless and unacceptable behavior. We’ve investigated the incident and this driver is no longer delivering packages on behalf of Amazon,” the statement read.
This is far from the only incident Amazon has had in recent years with its delivery trucks and vans. From being cut in half by an Amtrak train to trying to avoid financial responsibility after a van totaled a woman’s car, Amazon drivers seem to need a bit more training. This also isn’t the first time something like driving over grass has happened with an Amazon van. Back in 2019, a homeowner in Georgia filmed an Amazon van driving across their front lawn just to deliver a package. While Amazon issued a statement apologizing for the incident, it’s not known if the driver was fired over the incident.
