Allied Benefits/Commercial Health Plan

I have had this insurance since 2019 with not a lot of complaints. But this week I have been trying to make appointments (for slightly scary women’s health issues) and every time I call I have to go back to square 1 with trying to explain my insurance. They look at my card and it’s like it’s in a foreign language. It’s very frustrating because within just one doctors office I have to jump over hurdles just to get care. I have had the same insurance for my previous visits. I have had to call my insurance and the provider on the phone at the same time.

The plan is with Allied Benefits and from what I understand it is a commercial plan with no in-network. I can go wherever I want to go. We are a small family run business and this is the type of plan we have had for years. I have had no complaints other than it being hard to explain it to doctors office and pharmacy. $3,500 Deductible, $40 co-pay. $60 specialist. 70/30 after deductible. $7,000 out of pocket max.

Does anyone have any insight or experience with Allied Benefits? Or commercial plans?

Thank you for any advice!
