Hospital Indemnity – Maternity

I have tried to get in contact with my insurance plan’s customer service for days to no avail, so I’m hoping someone may be able to help me dissect what exactly this means before my deadline to make plan changes.

I am wondering if my hospital indemnity insurance will include/cover my inpatient stay for labor + delivery. I am also wondering if I should add my newborn to the insurance and it would also apply to her, as well.

I tried to research this myself online. My policy specifically states “Maternity: Included without a waiting period” and in the EXCLUSION list, the only thing listed that would apply to maternity/newborn says “12. a newborn child's routine nursing or routine well baby care during the initial Confinement in a Hospital”

I feel like this should be self-explanatory, but it’s not to me. #12 is throwing me for a loop. Someone explain this to me like I’m 5, please
