If someone insured through an employer gets a terminal illness and enrolls in Hospice, what happens to the insurance for that person’s dependents? (USA)

My father-in-law (<65yo M) has stage-IV cancer and was recently given a prognosis of "weeks" left to live. He has private insurance through his work (in the USA). He has two dependents who are insured through his plan – his wife (50s F) and daughter (20s F, covered via Affordable Care Act on his plan). Neither of his dependents are employed. My FIL is likely to enroll in Hospice in the next few days. My question is – what happens to my FIL's dependents' insurance coverage after he enrolls in Hospice? My understanding was that Hospice enrollment dramatically changes insurance coverage, payment, etc., but I don't understand how. I just want to make sure that if my mother-in-law, for example, got in a car accident next week, she would still have coverage while he's in Hospice.

I recognize that I probably don't know what I don't know, so forgive me if my question doesn't make sense or needs more details.

Thanks in advance for the advice.
