NIBA names Tasmania/Victoria broker award winners

20 May 2022

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has named winners of its 2022 broking awards for Tasmania and Victoria.

Hobart-based Gallagher Senior Account Executive Daniel Quintin is this year’s Victorian/Tasmanian Broker of the Year while Aon/Affinity Insurance Brokers Client Manager Greg Shallard is the region’s Young Professional Broker, NIBA says.

Mr Quintin is the first recipient of the Graham “Bear” Stevens Trophy, in recognition of former NIBA president Mr Stevens who died earlier this month following a battle with cancer, and his significant contribution to NIBA and the broader broking profession.

“The award process continues to unearth the great talent from within the broking industry and shine a light on their achievements,” NIBA CEO Philip Kewin said.

The winners were crowned today at the NIBA Victoria Gala Lunch in Melbourne. They will compete against winners in WA, NSW, SA and Queensland for the national Stephen Ball Broker of the Year Award, sponsored by QBE, and national Warren Tickle Young Broker of the Year Award, sponsored by Vero.

Mr Quintin competed against finalists Launceston-based Aon Client Manager Andrea Porte and Melbourne-based Aon Head of Placement, National, Matthew Schinck.

“With his exceptional customer service and dedication to client advocacy at Gallagher, Daniel has set a very high standard, and we commend him for his tremendous broking achievements,” QBE Australia Pacific MD – Business Elliot Hill said.

Mr Shallard competed against Avatar Brokers CEO and Account Director Josh Meyer and Marsh McLennan Principal – Buying Groups Riley Glacken. All three are based in Melbourne.
