Employer cut my health insurance mid year. Accusing me of not enrolling.

Year 2023 we had Cigna at my job

Open enrollment was November/ December we got blue cross blue shield now.

I clearly remember signing up! January 2024 rolls up I get my card in the mail. I log into the app. Says coverage started January 1 2024. I've been going to the doctor, doing labs, had a stomach infection, got antibiotics, they want me to do test on my liver for fatty liver disease, my dr talks about possible weight loss surgery and all of a sudden….

My insurance gets cut July 1 2024. I emailed HR they said I didn't enroll last year. I'm confused???

If I didn't enroll then why did I get my card beginning of this year and I've been having insurance until now? Shouldn't my coverage ended January 1? Are they canceling my insurance cuz I'm using too much or are they planning on firing me or what's going on?

This is the email " Good morning

I can assure you that your employment has stayed the same and is still active.

I do not show you are enrolled in any coverage as of 1/1/2024. It looks like you did not submit enrollment changes during our fall open enrollment period and your prior coverage ended as of 12/31/2023. Your next opportunity to enroll in benefits will be during our open enrollment later this year or if you have a qualified life event to enroll in coverage mid-year.
