Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has expanded its footprint with two acquisitions: Cornerstone Commercial & Personal Insurance Services in Rancho Cucamonga, California and Zayla Partners in Katy, Texas. Financial terms for both transactions were not disclosed.

Cornerstone, a retail insurance agency, caters to commercial and personal clients in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, focusing on commercial real estate, construction, and homeowners associations.

Phil Hakopian, Allison Hakopian, and their team will continue operations from their current location under Scott Firestone, who oversees Gallagher’s Southwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.

“Cornerstone is a highly regarded agency whose expertise in the homeowners association niche will enhance our capabilities in the region,” said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. (pictured), Gallagher’s chairman and chief executive. “I am delighted to welcome Phil, Allison, and their associates to Gallagher.”

Meanwhile Zayla Partners, an executive compensation strategy firm, serves clients of various sizes across multiple industries.

Chris Crawford, Ian Keas, and their team will remain in Texas and Colorado, reporting to Steve Coco, managing director of global human resources & compensation consulting for Gallagher’s employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.

“Zayla is a well-regarded firm that represents an excellent cultural fit and enhances our HR and compensation consulting capabilities,” noted the CEO. “I am delighted to welcome Chris, Ian, and their associates to Gallagher.”
