Can I cancel a life insurance policy my dad has on me?

My father has a life insurance policy out on me and has for many years now. I was about 19 or 20 when he took this out. I am 30 now. He pays for it every month. We are no longer on speaking terms and have not been for almost 3 years now. I do not want him to get any money if something happens to me because he wouldn't give my husband a dime of it if something was to happen to me. He wouldn't even use it to help pay for funeral expenses or any outstanding debts I have. He'd just reap the benefits off my death. I even asked him before our falling out if we could make the beneficiary my husband and if I could take over the payments. His response was "No, you wouldn't keep up with it and your husband will probably leave you anyways. So we are keeping the beneficiary as me."

When the policy was taken out I had to sign for it to be instated. I'm unsure if that means it's actually in my name. Am I able to call the company and cancel this policy or does the person paying the premium have to do so?
