Cigna Doesn’t Seem to Know Who Does and Doesn’t Accept their IL HMO Connect Plan

So first of all, I'm in Chicago. Northside. Right next to the lake. Must be 8 hospitals within 3 miles of me. The PCP they listed on my ID card is an hour west of me in the 'burbs. That didn't seem right so I went to Cigna's site, found somebody almost in walking distance and called them. They don't accept the plan. So I called Cigna, explained what happened and asked if they could direct me to somebody who for sure accepts this plan, and they gave me a name. I called. They don't accept the plan. So I called Cigna again and they did a search on their system and emailed me the results. Like half the doctors on the list are from groups I already know don't accept the plan. I tried a new group. They don't accept the plan either. I finally called the office of the doctor that's an hour West of me. They DO actually accept the plan.

Has anybody ever run into something like this? How does this 97.48 billion dollar company not even know who does and does not support their plans? And how raw of a deal is it for providers if I can't find a single doctor or group in the city of Chicago who will accept it? If anybody in Chicago actually does accept this plan, how am I supposed to find them?
