AGCS engages new regional head of claims

AGCS appoints new regional head of claims

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), Allianz’s entity for large-scale corporate and specialty risks, has appointed Tom Major (pictured) as regional head of claims for its London and Nordics unit, effective June 1. He succeeds Lars Vissing and will remain based in the AGCS London office.

In his new role, Major will be responsible for AGCS’ claims services business across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics. He will report to Nadia Côté, who joined as managing director of the London and Nordics regional unit earlier this month, with an additional reporting line to Thomas Sepp, chief claims officer.

Major first joined AGCS almost 10 years ago as a business strategy analyst in the energy and marine teams. He has since held various roles within the company, most recently working as head of property, energy and construction claims in the UK. He also served as an officer in the British Army for six years and has a degree in Civil Engineering from Newcastle University.

“Tom is already well known to many in his current role leading our property, energy & construction claims team,” said Thomas Sepp. “His experience across the insurance value-chain means he is expertly positioned to lead our regional claims team for London and Nordics.

“This appointment further demonstrates Allianz’s commitment to nurturing and developing our employees, highlights the strength of our internal talent and means we continue to be expertly positioned to support our clients’ needs at the moment of truth when they need us the most. I very much look forward to continuing to work together with Tom in his new role.”
