Doctor’s billing agent not billing my insurance

My current insurance plan allows me to see different PCPs in-network without having to assign one specific PCP. I have a PPO plan

I had an appointment with a primary care doctor, who was confirmed to be in-network with my insurance, about 2.5 months ago. The day before my original appointment, the doctor’s office called me saying that they noticed I didn’t assign that doctor as my PCP with my insurance. My insurance said I didn’t have to in order to be fully covered but they still assigned this doctor to be my PCP for that whole month including the service date.

Fast forward, today, the doctor’s incompetent billing agent called me saying she was concerned my insurance won’t cover my visit since doctor is not assigned as my PCP anymore. I changed my PCP several weeks after that original appointment. I told them that my insurance didn’t even receive any claims from them and that they would cover my visit. The billing rep did a three way call with my insurance and my insurance confirmed that I would be fully covered for my visit since this doctor is in-network AND this doctor was assigned as my PCP on my appointment day (even if that wasn’t necessary).

The billing rep is still hesitant about billing my insurance. I got really upset and yelled at her for bothering me about an issue that is not my problem. We argued over her ridiculous fear and I complained to their office manager, who emailed the billing agent to take care of this issue and confirmed I should be covered. I am not sure if the idiot agent submitted the claim yet.

I have never experienced an issue like this before. Should I follow up tomorrow to see if they submitted the claim or does it not matter since it’s not my responsibility?
