Am I better on my own?
I feel incredibly defeated and it's all thanks to Cigna.
I've had the worst allergy season of my life, wanted to allergy shots, but the doctor wanted updated skin prick testing so that the formulas could be right. Despite having bloodwork, from 2 years ago that validated I had allergies, Cigna still went for the decline. So now I'm left, with OTCs that don't work.
They also denied an MRI for my knee, which when i finally got showed a huge meniscus tear. Their response, oh our bad, we'll bring it up in our next meeting. And now, a doc wants an MRI for a suspected herniated disc, and Cigna seems ready to deny, deny, deny.
Getting to my question – I have Cigna through my employment, but I just find them to be awful. I feel like I'm paying them, and then the few times I ask them to be there, they do everything in their power not to help.
I can't help but wonder if I'm better to go on my own, with a different company. I literally just don't understand what I'm paying for.
Would love any insight on prices differences, etc – if you have done this.
