Didn’t Cancel Health Insurance in Time, What Can I Do
Hello. Just looking to either come to terms with losing a bunch of money every paycheck, or to figure out how to stop losing a bunch of money every paycheck.
I was full-time for about three months earlier this year and to take advantage of those benefits I enrolled in health insurance for the first time through my employer because it went from over $500 a month to being completely free. Well, I've been back to part-time since April, and I just didn't register that that meant I would need to manually waive insurance again like I usually do for reasons I can't even explain to myself, and now I'm being charged over $500 a month (on a part-time salary that gets me Covered California easily aka that's way too much for me to afford) for that insurance. I'm planning on calling HR tomorrow and begging them to let me cancel, but I don't know what else I can do if I can even do anything.
Thanks for anything, even sympathy. I'm feeling really shitty about it right now.
