Mosaic Insurance has commenced its fourth summer internship program, welcoming five university students to its offices in Bermuda, London, New York, and Chicago.

Marley Saggar came on board Mosaic’s Hamilton, Bermuda headquarters as a communications-marketing and strategy intern, while Isabelle Elliott-Hanson is working with the financial institutions underwriting team in London. Additionally, three students are supporting Mosaic’s rapidly expanding cyber division: Jessica Bruton in London, Daniel Hoehler in New York, and Enzo Croy in Chicago.

“We’re thrilled to once again engage young talent across business lines and regions,” said Lisa Fontanetta, Mosaic’s chief of staff. “As well as learning the basics of their divisions, they’re able to experience life inside a developing global company, learning first-hand from senior leadership. We hope the internship demonstrates the variety of fantastic career opportunities in our industry.”

Saggar, a Bermudian student at Seneca College in Toronto, is expected to graduate next spring with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management. At Mosaic, he supports underwriters, assists with analytics and communications, monitors social media and website metrics, and creates content. His projects include market research and planning for a new corporate matching-gift initiative.

“Being able to work in a global insurer during its early years of business is an amazing opportunity I could not pass up,” Saggar shared. “Having access to industry professionals and their expertise in the various specialty lines Mosaic offers is extremely rewarding and a great foundation for my career.”

Elliott-Hanson, a third-year student at the University of Sussex, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience. She collaborates with the financial institutions underwriting team, learning to evaluate and assess risks, and becoming familiar with the binding process and ratings models.

Bruton, a Bermudian graduate of Cheltenham Ladies College in the UK, recently completed her first year at Queen’s University in Ontario, studying Global Development with a minor in Politics. She works with underwriters, attends meetings, updates quote sheets, and participates in training sessions focused on technology errors and omissions product coverage.

Hoehler, an American graduate of Haverford College, is set to begin a master’s program in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania this fall. His internship includes attending underwriting meetings and helping to implement a new dashboard for reviewing contract wordings and compliance regulations.

Croy, a third-year Philosophy & Politics student at the University of Edinburgh, recently spent a year abroad at the University of Oslo. At Mosaic, he drafts proposals, reviews submissions, attends meetings with underwriters and brokers, and organizes submission data. He will also produce a report on emerging and current cyber threats and trends.

“We look forward to having our interns work in Mosaic’s culture, contribute to meaningful projects, and set a foundation for successful careers,” said Haviland Dunne, assistant vice president and global human resources business partner at Mosaic.

““They’ll participate in training opportunities unique to our company and our industry, and also benefit from the valuable insights of our experienced team. We wish them a warm welcome and a successful summer ahead.”
