Medical device company demanding more money than shown in insurance EOB

I got a pair of hearing aids under insurance on 4/26/24. The claim was processed on 5/8/24 and the explanation of benefits I received from my insurance company matched what I paid the audiologist at the time of service. Now the audiologist is calling me saying that the hearing aid company is saying there was an "error in the calculation" and I actually owe an extra $2500 for the hearing aids. I do want to keep the hearing aids, as they've greatly improved my quality of life, but it doesn't seem correct to me for me to voluntarily fork over that much more cash outside of the insurance process.

Am I crazy for thinking that I should tell the audiologist that that sounds like something that needs to be worked out between the company and my insurance before I pay anything more? It's kind of an odd case, because it's a physical device that has a warranty managed by the company, so I assume they'd be within their rights to do dumb stuff like not honor the warranty if I don't play ball, but it seems to me like this is on them for messing up the paperwork, so they should really fix that if there's that big of a discrepancy.
