Bridging us to Medicare in Virginia

Hi there, this is one of my first times using reddit, so here it goes. My wife and I have both decided to retire early, as we want to enjoy the years we have together. I'm 58M and my wife is 62F. We have been using my wife's Cobra for the past 14 months, so we will be running out of COBRA by October. I have been doing some research on ACA, but it looks like Virginia(FFX county) does't seem to have great options for ACA. There is no PPO, just EPO. I am kinda leaning toward Kaiser, but that is a HMO. I'm all wrapped around keeping the Deductible, and the OOP max to be lower. I talk to people about their experience with Kaiser, and some folks love it, and others hate it. My wife doesn't have as much medical issues, besides some skin cancer type issues like basil cell. I take meds for High BP, taking statins, and have some Prostate concerns that I need to worry about. I'm wondering if it makes sense to each get separate insurances, and maybe I get ACA based one, and my wife get a private insurance for coverage, as she likes to keep all her doctors. Wanted to see what folks do to try bridging the time before 65.
