I’m 30, my husband 33, and we have two young kids. I grew up with financially literate and responsible parents but was never taught these things, nor was my husband. I’m a SAHM because daycare isn’t an option for us in our area. My husband works from home making decent money. Anyways, I’ve taken it upon myself to educate myself on optimizing and organizing our own finances and now I need to figure out life insurance.

Should I go with a company like Aflac? Or should I find a broker? My uncle does LI but I’ve never talked with him about our options. Should I trust a family member to set this up for us or someone non-biased? Also, is this like car insurance where you shop around for a new policy every 12-24 months or are you stuck with a policy once selected?

I’m literally starting with little to no knowledge on the subject and somewhat embarrassed that we don’t have a policy in place. So please be respectful. 🫠
