Any Advice on Colorado Healthcare Options?

Looking for some advice. Sometime in August-September, I’m moving to Colorado with my girlfriend. It’s my first time moving out of state, and I’ll be 26 when I move. I don’t have any chronic pre-existing conditions (except for relatively mild asthma), I’m male, and really just want to be able to see a doctor twice a year and a dentist once or twice a year without going bankrupt.

I have a steady WFH job that pays well, but health insurance is not one of the benefits because I’m technically an IC. I’ve never had to go through the rigamarole of signing up for my own healthcare before and I’m completely clueless. I guess my few questions are:

What are my best affordable options?

Do I sign up for a health plan before I move or do I just accept that I’ll have a lapse in coverage and sign up when I get there?

What is “open enrollment”, and if I’ve missed the deadline for it, can I still get health insurance?

Sorry if these are relatively dumb questions, I’m just very overwhelmed by the whole move in general, and any advice that can help guide me in the right direction would be deeply appreciated.
