In a brief announcement, the insurance brokerage and financial services firm said the acquisition strengthens its commercial and personal insurance capabilities.

According to HUB, 2197747 Alberta is partially owned by insurance consultant Carianne O’Connor. Based in Edmonton, O’Connor specializes in commercial insurance, including farm, as well as home and auto insurance. O’Connor is joining the Prairies operations at HUB.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Alberta swoop comes on the heels of recent HUB acquisitions in the US – namely in Michigan, Massachusetts, and California. Earlier this week, HUB announced that it snapped up the assets of True North Group Insurance Services for its Midwest East division.

Headquartered in Illinois, HUB employs more than 17,000 people across North America.
