Leadenhall Capital Partners LLP, the London-headquartered insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance linked investment manager, has promoted long-standing Business Development specialist Paul Haig to Director and hired Lawrence Oyekunle as Director, Data Engineering.

Paul Haig was originally hired by Leadenhall Capital Partners back in 2017, when he joined the company within its business development function.

Haig joined Leadenhall after having spent 5 years working at reinsurance brokerage Aon, where he held a role in the catastrophe management team as an analyst, largely focused on European reinsurance treaty risks.

Haig has worked his way up the ranks at Leadenhall, having begun as Business Development Associate when he joined in 2017, then becoming a Vice President and now being made Director of Business Development in 2024.

Lawrence Oyekunle is a specialist enterprise data engineer and has joined Leadenhall Capital Partners as its first Director of Data Engineering.

He joins the ILS investment manager after a more than five year stint at investment specialists , where he worked on delivering process automation across the investment business and specialising in data ingestion and reporting.

Prior to that, Oyekunle spent 3 years at investment firm , where he worked on data modelling, developing processes to ingest a wide range of data formats, and created reporting to provide insights into the data.

In an industry like insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance, the availability of data has become significant, making it vitally important managers can consume and make use of that data, to provide insights to inform investment strategy.
