Self-employed insurance? Any chance at all to land something good or stuck with high deductible?

I’m getting divorced soon and won’t be on my partners plan anymore that currently has the best benefits there are in this country (govt insurance). I’m self-employed as a therapist and bring in about 4-5k in, after expense deductions I can get it to like 3-3.5k. While I have my private practice, I’m an associate, so I charge pretty low fees as I’m starting out with only $50-70/session. I’m hoping to increase it a bit beginning of next year but I’m still probably going to be stuck around the same amount. I’ve looked at marketplace and I’m not originally from the US, so I’ve never actually experienced what it’s like to not have insurance or a good insurance (I’m very grateful for that). I’m planning to go back to Europe next year or the year after but need something interim. I have some chronic autoimmune issues and I’m dependent on medication that I pay out of pocket for easily (pretty affordable). However, there have been complications in the past and I had to go to the urgent care or ER a few times and I’m just terrified of ending up in so much debt I will never come out of.

So, I’ve talked to some insurance agents but they’d just give me what’s on the marketplace pretty much. Not really explaining what I need to look for. I don’t care as much about having my meds covered as I care about not ending in immense debt because of going to the UC/ER because the hospital was in network but the doctor was out of network and all that scam. What’s the best way to do this? I have the option to buy my ex’ insurance but it’ll be $600/month and come with a copay/deductible (not sure exactly what) and become pretty hard to sustain overtime… especially if I’m only making maybe 3-3.5k profit to pay for life expenses.
