Healthcare.gov/Texas Benefits – Kids’ benefits are on hold for months b/c we might be eligible for CHIP. Applied for TX CHIP, but our CHIP application hasn’t moved in over 3 months. Now what do I do?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and help out! We're located in Texas.

I had ACA benefits (Marketplace insurance) from January 2023-December 2023. My kids were on the same policy. When I went to renew our benefits for 2024, the kids were denied because our income is very close to the cutoff for CHIP benefits in Texas. The message on the ACA website said that my state would contact me to let me know if the kids were eligible for CHIP or not. If they weren't eligible for state benefits, then they could qualify for ACA. (I doubt we qualify for state benefits. We were denied for CHIP back in 2022, and our income has only increased since then.)

I waited a few weeks, but heard nothing and didn't receive anything in the mail. Wasn't terribly surprised.

Now, I know that if you have a denial from CHIP/Medicaid in the past three months, ACA can accept that. So I figured I would just apply to CHIP/Medicaid through YourTexasBenefits, get denied, and I could go back to ACA with that documentation. And that would probably be faster than "waiting for my state to contact me".

That was back on January 16th. On YourTexasBenefits, my CHIP/Medicaid application says it's been received, but not reviewed. It's been over 3 months and the kids are still without any benefits. I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone been in a similar situation? If so, do you have any idea what I should do next?
