Hospital failed to submit claims to correct insurance

I’m losing sleep towards this so bear with me. I went to labor and delivery on August 2022 and at the time they didn’t ask me for insurance or anything so I assumed (my mistake) that they had it on file. Fast forward to March 2024 I get a collections later saying about a debt I never paid. I never received a bill from the hospital and I gave birth there two months later and was able to receive that bill! However this particular one, they had sent to an address that I haven’t lived in in over 15 years! And to top of that they were billing an insurance that I also haven’t had in 15 years! So now I’m stuck with neither one of them budging because it’s been long and the insurance doesn’t seem like they will accept the claim and the hospital itself does not wanna process the claim because they can’t guarantee the insurance would pay for it. So my question is and i hope someone can help me as I am tired and feel like I’m exhausted all resources already

What do I do to make this go away ??? Its a bill for over $1500 that’s just something I can’t Willy nilly pay especially if know if they just ran it the correct insurance my copay would have only been $250-$500. Please help me. Thank you
