Broker Dealer Background Check – Job Rescinded

I was to start a sales support role next week at a major life carrier. Offer was rescinded today due to something on the broker dealer background check. HR person couldn't/wouldn't disclose the issue. 800+ credit score for 15+ years however about 4 years ago a business I owned 19% of was involved in back and forth litigation with a commercial landlord at one of our physical locations. The majority owner wanted litigation while myself and another partner wanted to settle and move on. The majority owner got his way, and we ultimately lost, and all had judgments against our personal names. We paid the judgemen and all attorney fees paid in full immediately. In other words, the judgment was satisfied.

What is the likelihood that this satisfied judgment is the reason my job was rescinded? The broker-dealer background check authorization form I signed never asked if I had any judgments. Had I been asked that question, I absolutely would have disclosed it and explained. Beyond that judgment, there is nothing I can fathom as I have no arrests, no bankrupcies, no liens, or anything. I have passed multiple background checks as I have volunteered on my sons flag football team for the past 3 years, and each season, I've had to do a background check. Obviously, I understand that a broker-dealer background check looks at different things than a regular background check. I'm just really at a loss and wish they could have at least told me the specific flag that came up.
