Woman's Car Get Stuck On Top Of Pool Cover After Medical Emergency

Police in Georgia had to rescue a woman who got her Toyota Corolla and herself trapped on top of a covered swimming pool after suffering some sort of medical emergency behind the wheel. In a 9-1-1 call, a woman can be heard telling a dispatcher that “someone just rammed through the pool fence in a car and [she’s] in the middle of the pool,” and “I don’t know how long the cover is gonna hold.”

Body camera footage posted on YouTube shows a man standing next to the black, tenth-generation Corolla sitting on top of the pool cover as police officers arrived at the condo complex in Kennesaw, Georgia. He is heard telling officers that the driver is only holding her head up occasionally. After she wasn’t able to respond to a Cobb Country police officer, he smashed in the rear driver-side window of the car. Eventually, he were able to open the front door, and they found the driver slumped over in her seat.

Officers Save Driver From Car in Pool

“It’s cold in here okay? We’re going to get out. Come on, let’s go,” the officer could be heard saying to the driver. “You’re going to come with me.”

That’s when police were able to pull her free of the car and the pool, and they put blankets over her. She was then treated at the scene before being taken to a local hospital where she’s expected to make a full recovery, according to Cobb County Police. There’s no word on exactly what happened to her behind the wheel.

Later in the day, a tow truck was used to remove the car. I don’t know who made this pool cover, but they should be using this incident as an advertisement. Depending on spec, a tenth-generation Corolla weighs between 2,700 and 3,000 pounds. Then, you’ve got to add in the water on the cover. That’s a whole lot of weight to support without snapping. Impressive work, mystery pool cover company.
