10 workplace tasks being simplified by AI

The ways in which artificial intelligence is improving the workplace experience are becoming increasingly more apparent, but where is it making the biggest impact?

Fifty-nine percent of senior leadership who use AI within their role say it has improved their overall job satisfaction, according to a recent survey of over 1,000 U.S. business leaders from tech website Tech.co. Another 30% of respondents said AI has had a “strong” or “significant” impact on their work processes, which means that this technology could be the key to boosting employee engagement long-term.

“Virtually any technology that reduces the time you have to spend on a work task — or can complete it entirely — is likely to improve your day-to-day job satisfaction,” says Aaron Drapkin,  lead writer and AI expert at Tech.co. “And that’s exactly what AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude can do.”

In an effort to shed some light on the ways AI is streamlining common workplace processes and systems, Tech.co ranked the areas that organizations are seeing the most AI usage by leadership and employees. Data analysis came in first place, with 32% of companies reporting using AI for data analysis tasks, followed by writing tasks, with 26% of companies reporting they used AI for everything from writing emails to reports.

As a result, on top of job satisfaction, 56% of businesses reported a positive impact on productivity levels, according to the survey. Seventy-two percent of respondents who use AI extensively reported high organizational productivity, compared to 55% of respondents who use AI to a limited extent.

“If job satisfaction continues to rise sharply for employees using AI — and it rises quicker than it is for those who aren’t — then it’s simply going to put pressure on businesses of all sizes to implement more AI tools and systems, or risk being left behind,” Drapkin says. “It’s going to make it impossible to not integrate AI deeply into the systems and processes of a business.”
