As part of its efforts to further strengthen its North American insurance practice, Clyde & Co has announced the addition of Smita Mokshagundam as a partner in its Chicago branch.

Mokshagundam transitions to Clyde & Co from Hinkhouse Williams Walsh LLP, bringing with her expertise in representing and advising insurers on coverage disputes and issues, with a focus on general liability policies.

Her areas of specialization, Clyde & Co explained, include construction failure, intellectual property, and biometric privacy litigation, alongside a track record in resolving such disputes in both courtroom and private mediation settings.

Additionally, her practice encompasses advising on environmental issues, sexual abuse/harassment cases, products liability, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.

Jamie Sanders, another partner at Clyde & Co’s Chicago office, expressed enthusiasm about Mokshagundam’s arrival at the firm.

“Her strong track record in construction insurance coverage litigation aligns perfectly with our team in North America and we look forward to working with her,” Sanders said.

“Joining Clyde & Co offers a valuable opportunity for me to expand access to global expertise and representation for my clients,” Mokshagundam said. “I look forward to joining a top player in insurance law in North America and globally, and to collaborating with my colleagues across the world.”

Besides insurance, Clyde & Co specializes in key sectors crucial to global trade and commerce, including transport, construction, energy, trade, and commodities.
