International re/insurance group Aventum has announced the promotion of Phil Wood to the newly established position of chief partnerships officer.

With a career spanning over three decades in consumer business and experience within Asia, Wood will spearhead the development and support of new consumer partnerships and the Synergy division under Aventum.

According to his LinkedIn, he was previously co-founder and CEO of Novus, Rokstone’s consumer affinity and warranty business.

The company explained that the promotion should enhance oversight and support of the group’s burgeoning entrepreneurial partnership initiatives and consumer product-oriented Synergy deals, with a particular emphasis on expanding partnerships throughout Asia.

John McGonigle, who brings 28 years of experience in underwriting within the warranty & affinity markets, will take the helm of all consumer business within Rokstone, including Novus. McGonigle, who has served as chief underwriting officer at Novus for the past four years, will continue with Wood’s guidance and support.

“He will continue to be involved with the consumer vertical at Rokstone, lending his extensive experience and contacts to assist the product leaders in delivering successful schemes for clients, but stepping up to this new role in Aventum will allow him to maximize the impact of his experience by sourcing and developing new partnership opportunities for the group, particularly in Asia, and supporting those new and existing teams to be the best they can be,” Eldridge said.
