People buy new cars for lots of reasons, but among them is mainly the belief that a new car will be reliable. A new car ought to avoid the pitfalls of a used one, and if it was designed recently, it should be dependable and trouble-free. But that’s not always the case, as recall after recall across the industry shows. What new car do you think looks like a reliability nightmare?

Hyundai was the subject of a major recall after few models made as recently as 2022 were found to have engines with questionable reliability. Imagine any owner’s surprise when their new car needs an entire engine replacement and the automaker is hardly being helpful. So much for a new car.
