Everyone knows that cars tend to depreciate the minute you drive them off the dealer lot, potentially losing you thousands in equity from the very first minute you own it. Cars are a bad investment, and that’s particularly true of high-end luxury cars, let’s say Mercedes-Benz or greater. If you’re buying a new Bentley Bentayga for just shy of a quarter million dollars, you can’t expect to recoup very much of that selling it off a few years later. The selling dealer claims this Glacier White behemoth cost $281,000 brand new, and it is listed on eBay for $119,000.

2022 Was a Banner Year for Bentley

Oh, it’s a white over black SUV with red stitching? Groundbreaking.

This big twin-turbo W12-powered monster has something like $50,000 just in options, including $6,000 in paint options. They paid an extra $2,000 to have piano black interior veneers, which everyone knows are awful and should never be spec’d in anything. Gloss black and carbon fiber looks great on the outside of this car, but inside it’s a travesty.

The Bentayga is more or less an Audi Q7 underneath, meaning it’s a pretty competent chassis, but it’s definitely not worth nearly three hundred stacks. I’m not even convinced it’s worth the 119 stacks the seller is asking for the thing. Sure, the thick carpet is nicer in a Bentley, but is this a better buy than a brand new Cayenne? Or will it pull as hard as an old V10 TDI Touareg? Speaking of bad financial choices…

At least with 600 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, you have enough power to get away from people mocking your poor financial decisions and boring choice of paint and interior colors. If you’re so inclined, you can head over to eBay and make this black and white goliath your own.
