Joshua Police to Lead Boston Mutual Individual Sales: Personnel Moves

Boston Mutual Life Insurance Co. has picked Joshua Police to run a new sales department.

Police will be the executive vice president in charge of the Canton, Massachusetts-based company’s Business Development and One Company Solutions Strategic Business Center.

The center will oversee distribution of individual life insurance products and workplace product sales and distribution. It will work to build on Boston Mutual’s existing presence in the worksite market in New England.

Police has been Boston Mutual’s vice president for market strategies. He began working for the company in 2008. Earlier, he spent three years at Sun Life Financial.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College and a master’s degree in business from Northeastern University.

Boston Mutual also has named Nicholas Barishian vice president for individual solutions; Ty Conder, vice president for small business solutions; Andrew McLean, vice president for workplace solutions; and Allison DeFlaminis, director of sales of operations for the One Company Solutions unit.

Transamerica

Transransamerica has named Phil Eckman president of its workplace solutions division.

Eckman succeeds Kent Callahan, who plans to serve as vice chairman until the end of the year and then retire.

Callahan has worked for Transamerica since 1986, and he has been running the workplace solutions division since 2020.

Eckman has been the workplace solutions division’s chief operating officer. He has worked for Transamerica in many different positions since 1996. Before that, he was a lawyer with Clure, Eaton, Butler.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.

SE2

SE2 — a Topeka, Kansas-based life and annuity support services company that’s part of Eldridge — has tapped Michele Trogni to be its next CEO.

Trogni will succeed Mark Schultis, who is stepping down and becoming a company consultant.

She has been an operating partner at Eldridge and SE2′s board chair. She will continue to be the SE2 board chair.

Before she began working for Eldridge, in 2020, she was chair of Capital Markets Gateway. She also has been an executive at UBS and at Markit.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Northumbria University.

In related news, SE2 has hired Rob Frederick to be president and chief operating officer.

Frederick has been the chief operating officer at LTCG. He previously spent 12 years at Transamerica.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree from Drake University.

Frederick holds the fellow of the Life Management Institute and Chartered Life Underwriter professional designations. He also holds the associate, annuity products and administration, professional designation.
