Rx rider or Good Rx coupon for Lisdexamfetamine

Hey folks,

It’s time for me to sign up for a new health insurance through my employer. I have the option of adding a prescription rider to my plan for an additional $100-$120 per month taken out pre-tax. This is the plan I had last year because I was taking Vyvanse, and pricing was crazy. I recently found out that the generic brand has been made available at a cheaper cost. I found a goodrx coupon for $100 for a month’s prescription. My inclination is to go with the no rider option which does not cover prescriptions at all, and then rely on the coupon for my prescription, thinking that it would be cheaper overall. My math being that with the insurance+rider I’d have to pay about $30 for the medication. So about $150 per month. Without the rider and using the coupon, I’d spend about $100-$110 on the medication. So I’d be saving about $50 a month.

Is my logic flawed? I feel like I’m thinking it out, but would love a second or third opinion and/or being told that my logic is so wrong! I do take another medication but that is super cheap on Mark Cubans pharmacy, so not worried about that one.

Thanks in advance.
