Hi,

I am between jobs and insurers and I have just moved states and cancelled my previous health insurance.

I am looking at online short-term medical plans that could cover me until the end of the year or at least til I find a new employer who offers health insurance.

In the chance that I may need to visit the emergency room, am I better off having short-term health care plan (I was looking on eHealthinsurance .com) at plans that could go into effect as soon as tomorrow (indemnity).

However, I tried to research as much as I could before sending an application for this. I’m seeing that they aren’t the best (Everest). I meet the criteria for the FPG of 200% or less and hospitals in the area look like they would cover treatment 100% if that’s the case AND I’m uninsured. They wouldn’t cover it if I am insured.

What is your opinion on whether or not I should get short-term insurance? Are there any caveats I should know about or other information I should consider?

Please help, thank you!
